Mother Sobs Inconsolably Over Son's Death In Pahalgam Terror Attack: 'He Was The Only Bread Earner'


(MENAFN- Live Mint) Syed Adil Hussain Shah was a horse rider and the sole breadwinner for his family. He was among the 26 people who lost their lives in the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. His mother cried inconsolably as she spoke about her son's death while speaking to the media.

"He was the only bread earner of the family...," Syed Adil Hussain Shah's mother told news agency ANI as she mourned her son's death.

With a broken voice and tears in her eyes, his mother said,“He was the only support we had. He used to ride horses and earned money for the family. There is no one else to provide for us now. We don't know what we will do without him.”

Syed Haider Shah, father of Syed Adil Husain Shah, demanded justice over his son's death and severe consequences for the perpetrators.

While sharing the details regarding the incident, Syed Haider Shah told ANI,“My son was the only one who earned for our family. He went to Pahalgam yesterday to work, and around 3 PM, we heard about the attack. We called him, but his phone was switched off.”

He further said,“Later, at 4:30 PM, his phone turned on, but no one answered. We rushed to the police station, and that's when we learned that he had been injured in the attack. My son was martyred, and he was the only earner of our family. We want justice for his death. He was an innocent man. Why was he killed? Whoever is responsible must face the consequences.”

Meanwhile, Syed Adil Hussain Shah's uncle, Shaheed Bug Singh, informed him that he was the eldest son of the family. As the sole breadwinner , he had to look after his wife and children as well, he added.

The family seeks the government 's help amid grief and uncertainty. They also demand accountability for the attack, not just for the death of their son, but for all the lives lost in the incident.

Pahalgam terror attack

Terrorists indiscriminately shot tourists in Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday, April 23, 2025. The attack occurred in Baisaran, also known as 'mini Switzerland'. The 26 deceased included two foreigners, one businessman from Karnataka, and two locals. Following the attack, PM Modi cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and conducted a high level meeting in the presence of External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
