Kuwait Cabinet Looks Forward To GCC, Central Asian Summit


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, April 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Cabinet on Tuesday looked forward to forthcoming talks between Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and central Asian nation, slated for May 5 in the Uzbek city of Samarkand.
The gathering will see Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the second such summit bringing together the two regions, the Cabinet was informed amid its weekly session presided over by Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah.
Public Works' Minister Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan delivered a visual presentation over the progress in road maintenance work carried out on highways and areas nationwide, assuring the Cabinet that the project is set to meet its deadline without any delays.
The Cabinet then went on to discuss a number of issues on the agenda, referring the matters to concerned committees for further examination, pending approval.
The Cabinet also approved a decision to strip Kuwaiti citizenship off of a number of individuals, based on the works and findings of a national committee formed to investigate the matter. (end) nam
