Zelensky: Ukraine Currently Seeing No Serious Arms Shortage

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Volodymyr Zelensky says there is no serious shortage of weapons in the Ukrainian Army at the moment. At the same time, Ukraine is increasing its own ammunition production.

The head of state said this at an online press conference Tuesday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Now I see some shortages, but in general there are no serious ones today. There are issues with FPV drones, there are some other issues, but from the point of view of artillery, from the point of view of some mines, systems, for now we have these issues covered. And, frankly, we are increasing (stocks – ed.). There are several contracts, they are not free of charge as it was in the first or second year of the war. We get assistance that's not free, but it's there," Zelensky said.

He added that Ukraine is finding "partner money, or its own money" to purchase ammunition.

According to Zelensky, financing of ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is one of the issues he will discuss during visits to Finland and Norway.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, today Volodymyr Zelensky and the First Lady arrived on an official visit to Finland. The agenda includes meetings with President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb, Speaker Jussi Halla-aho and members of parliament, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, government officials, and defense industry CEOs.
