RSF Artillery Raid Claims Lives of Seven Civilians in Sudan

(MENAFN) More than seven civilians lost their lives, while dozens sustained injuries in an artillery attack carried out by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan, officials reported on Monday.

According to Khartoum State, RSF forces, late Sunday, targeted the western districts of the Al-Thawra neighborhood in Omdurman, Khartoum’s twin city. The attack claimed the lives of four individuals, including two children, and left 30 others wounded.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese Doctors Network, a non-profit institution, stated that three more casualties were recorded, with 20 others injured in El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State in southern Sudan.

The NGO urged the foreign community to apply pressure on the paramilitary group to cease attacks on residential sites.

The RSF has not yet issued a response regarding the incident.

On the same day, the Sudanese army declared the capture of key locations in central Khartoum, further intensifying its siege on RSF militants in the region.

In recent weeks, the RSF has been losing territorial control to the Sudanese army across multiple states, including Khartoum, Al-Jazira, White Nile, North Kordofan, Sennar, and Blue Nile.
