Syria indicts Hezbollah for killing three soldiers

(MENAFN) On Sunday, Syria’s defense officials indicted Hezbollah of capturing and killing three Syrian soldiers near the Lebanese border, calling it a “dangerous escalation” with potential repercussions.

According to Syria’s defense authorities, a Hezbollah unit ambushed the soldiers in an area close to Zeita Dam, in western Homs, and then moved them into Lebanon, where they were executed.
The remark emphasized, “This blatant aggression will not go unanswered.”

Syrian media outlet disclosed that in retaliation, Syrian forces launched airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in the Lebanese village of Al-Qasr.

Hezbollah promptly refused its engagement, with a remark from its media relations office, as reported by a media source, stating: "We categorically deny any connection to the events that took place today on the Lebanese-Syrian border."
