Dhaka: A Pennsylvania man was caught hiding a live turtle in his pants at the airport security in New Jersey, according to a press release from the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The passenger missed his flight, and the turtle was handed over to responsible authorities.

On Friday, March 7, an alarm went off when a man was going through the airport security at the Newark Liberty International Airport. The security check had been conducted with a body scanner, and it triggered the alarm near the man's groin area.

A TSA officer immediately administered a pat-down of the man's groin area and found he had been hiding something. Upon asking questions regarding the hidden item, the man reached down the front of his pants and pulled out a live turtle wrapped in a small blue towel.

The turtle was about 5 inches long, and the man claimed it was a red-eared slider turtle, a very common pet in the US.

Later, the man was handed over to Port Authority Police, and the police further questioned him, confiscated the turtle, and handed it over to animal control. The passenger missed his flight, and his name or any other identity was not disclosed.
