Hamas expresses full readiness to resume talks on second phase

(MENAFN) On Friday, Hamas confirmed its approval of an offer from mediators to restart talks. This includes granting freedom to an Israeli military man who holds American nationality and handing back the bodies of four Israeli people holding dual citizenship.

The group explained in a remark: "The Hamas leadership delegation received a proposal from the mediators on Thursday to resume negotiations. The movement responded with responsibility and positivity, submitting its reply early Friday."

Hamas has announced that it responded with the “release of the Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, who holds American citizenship, in addition to the bodies of four others with dual nationalities."

The announcement also emphasized Hamas’s "full readiness to begin negotiations and reach a comprehensive agreement on the issues of the second phase," while calling on Israel to “fulfill its full commitments."
