Inclement Weather: Schools Closed In Several Areas Of North Kashmir's Kupwara Till Mar 17

(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- In view of incessant rains and snowfall, the District Administration Kupwara has ordered the closure of all schools in several area of District Kupwara.

District admin ordered that all schos in Machil, Keran, Budnambal, Kumkadi, Jumagund, and upper areas of Karnah will remain closed till March 17, 2025.

The administration took this decision as a precautionary measure due to continuous rainfall in plains and snowfall in higher reaches, which has led to disruptions in road connectivity and an increased risk of avalanches and landslides in vulnerable areas.

Officials have advised residents, especially those in hilly regions, to avoid unnecessary travel and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.

Meanwhile, concerned departments have been directed to remain on alert to handle any emergencies arising from the prevailing weather conditions.
