Army Thwarts Two Drug Smuggling Attempts Using Drone

Amman, Mar. 14 (Petra)-- The Eastern Military Zone thwarted two smuggling and infiltration attempts using a drone to carry drugs.
"The Border Guard units in the Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with the military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle crystal meth using a drone that tried to cross the border," according to a military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army.
The source clarified that when the drone was tracked and monitored, its package was dumped inside Jordanian territory, and the rules of engagement were implemented. Three Syrian nationals attempted to enter the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan illegally, but their attempt was also stopped. The relevant authorities received both the people and the confiscated goods.
In order to preserve the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the source emphasized that the Jordan Armed Forces will keep using all of its power and capabilities to stop smuggling and infiltration in all of its forms.
