Starbucks says it will lay off 1,100 workers
(MENAFN) The US coffee chain Starbucks has stated that it will let go of 1,100 employees, the company's CEO Brian Niccol said on Monday.
"We are simplifying our structure, removing layers and duplication, and creating smaller, more nimble teams," it stated.
"Our intent is to operate more efficiently, increase accountability, reduce complexity, and drive better integration. All with the goal of being more focused and able to drive greater impact on our priorities."
Niccol has assured to quicken the service, and improve the online purchasing experience, as well as returning back the company's previous cafe vibe in the store.
Starbucks hired 16,000 employees starting from September. The cafe said that crews in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, roasting, and cafe workers will not be affected by the dismissals.
