Top aide voices remarks on Putin-Trump summit preparations
(MENAFN) Moscow and Washington are working to create the necessary conditions for a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, according to Putin's senior foreign policy aide, Yury Ushakov. This follows high-level talks between the two countries in Saudi Arabia, the first since the intensification of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.
The discussions in Riyadh aimed to normalize relations and lay the groundwork for peace talks regarding Ukraine. Ushakov was asked about reports suggesting the leaders could meet as soon as next week, but he indicated that such a meeting is unlikely without further preparation.
