Momani: Jordan Successfully Managed Dialogue With US President On Palestine
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, February 18 (Petra) -- Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani said on Tuesday Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, successfully managed high-level political and diplomatic dialogue with the United States.
Success was particularly demonstrated during last week's Washington summit between His Majesty and US President Donald Trump, he told Jordan News Agency (Petra) journalist, noting Jordan's balanced approach and steadfast position on the Palestinian cause as key to preserving national interests and the state's credibility.
During a meeting with Petra Director General Fairouz Mobaideen and editorial staff, Momani outlined Jordan's approach to proposals on the Palestinian issue through a clear political and media discourse that underscored Jordan's commitment to defending Palestinian rights, and setting up an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Jordan's "quiet and effective" diplomacy, he said, enabled the Kingdom to communicate its views on regional affairs as a voice heard at global forums, while safeguarding national interests.
Momani said national unity is key to protecting Jordanian society, its interests and the Palestinian cause from attempts to undermine it.
He also stressed the need to maintain the national media's professionalism, accuracy and credibility.
