Liverpool, Everton condemn racist fans
(MENAFN) Liverpool as well as Everton have convicted fans due to racist insulting in the time with Wednesday's Merseyside derby.
"Such abuse is reprehensible and will not, and should not, be tolerated. Together, the two clubs will work with Merseyside Police, who are conducting an investigation with the aim of identifying the individuals responsible. We also encourage people who witness or experience online abuse to report and highlight it to the social media platforms on which it appears," stated as a shared remark delivered by the two teams on Thursday.
"We must all, including the social media companies, take a zero-tolerance stance. Platforms need to take accountability and action to ban such abusers. Racism and hate has no place online, in our stadiums or in our communities," the remark stated.
Everton midfielder Doucoure figured out that he was the focus of public dispute after honoring Everton's impressive 98th-minute derby equalizer in the face of traveling Liverpool fan base.
The party caused a fierce quarrel with Curtis Jones after the match.
The event intensified into a crowded fight as team players from the two groups clashed in the brawl. Referee Michael Oliver answered by giving out upright red cards to Doucoure as well as Jones.
