(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- A controversy has erupted after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's office posted on X, formerly twitter, that Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather called on him to discuss the budget session.
In a post on X, formerly twitter, Lone termed the meeting as an“insult to the sanctity of the legislature” and a“disgrace” to the post of Speaker.

Lone questioned why the Speaker, the highest authority in the legislature, needed to meet with the CM.

He also took potshots at the Speaker, saying he was“sitting like a good boy” in front of the CM. Lone shared an interesting anecdote about the position of the Speaker in democracy.
As per an excerpt from a book, shared by Lone on X, when the first Speaker of the Lok Sabha wanted to meet Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, the PM rushed to the Speaker's office instead of expecting the Speaker to come to him.
