Harnai Blast Death Toll Rises To 11 As Two More Injured Miners Succumb


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Harnai, Balochistan: The death toll from the Shahrag blast has risen to 11 after two more injured coal miners succumbed to their wounds, Police confirmed.

The explosion occurred near a vehicle transporting coal miners in the Shahrag area of Harnai, initially claiming nine lives and leaving eight others injured. Several of the injured remain in critical condition.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the blast site and launched an investigation. Harnai's Deputy Commissioner stated that the blast was caused by an explosive device planted by the roadside.

Most of the victims, both deceased and injured, are reported to be from Poran village in Shangla.

The spokesperson for the Balochistan government, Shahid Rind, expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and confirmed that the injured are receiving medical treatment at Shahrag Hospital. He added that a formal investigation has been launched into the attack.
