US Military Plane Crashes Into San Diego Bay


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The US Navy announced that an EA-18G Growler military aircraft crashed into the waters of San Diego Bay in California, after its two-pilot crew ejected safely.
The US Navy said in a statement that the plane belonged to the VAQ-135 electronic attack squadron, and crashed while trying to land. They confirmed that its crew had been rescued without injuries.
The statement added that the Naval Base Coronado launched the Emergency Operations Center to follow up on the repercussions of the accident, while investigations are still ongoing to determine the causes of the crash.
Footage circulated by social media users showed the moment rescue boats moved towards the plane crash site, amid intensive efforts by emergency teams to secure the area.
The US Navy has not yet released any additional details about the incident or any potential impacts on shipping in the port.
