Zeno Group Names New APAC Regional President


(MENAFN- PRovoke) APAC - Communications firm Zeno Group has promoted David Lian to the role of APAC regional president, according to Lian when PRovoke media reached out. In his new role, Lian will lead Zeno Group in the Asia Pacific region, overseeing its presence in nine markets through twelve offices.

Lian has been with the agency since 2013, joining as its managing director. In the role, he was charged with building Zeno's team and service offerings in Malaysia and exploring the future of communications there. He was promoted to managing director, Asia, growth and innovation in 2019 before climbing the ladder to APAC regional president this year.

"2025 will be a pivotal year for Asia on the back of many global developments – geopolitical and socioeconomic. My immediate goal is to ensure Zeno Group in Asia is well-placed to capitalize on this opportunity. Strengthening our offerings in strategic areas and markets is therefore high on my to-do list," said Lian in a conversation with PRovoke Media.

"One particular highlight is India, where we've recently brought on Abhishek Gulyani, who's hit the ground running and is bringing new capability and energy to our team there. We are expanding our capability to deliver integrated work in India and this will position us well with clients looking to expand there," he said.

Lian added that another area of focus for him is driving the continued growth of its specialty services. "We expanded our regional data and analytics team with a hub in India in September last year and our technology team in Malaysia continues to deliver award-winning technology builds for clients globally. Bringing comprehensive and effective communications solutions to clients through integrating these services will be a key area of focus," he said.

Finally, Lian noted that one more priority in the coming year for him is to operationalize AI in a deeper level within the agency and leverage its power for clients.

"I'm fortunate to be stepping into the role with a very strong foundation laid. We have an excellent bench of leaders across the region who are shaping our business every day. One thing I've learnt from my experience in driving growth and innovation is that change takes time, but effecting change requires a clear-eyed vision and the rigor of breaking down big objectives into small actions," he said, adding that in 2025, communications cannot be thought of in siloes anymore.

"Integrated thinking, strategy and action are table stakes today. Our focus for Zeno Group in Asia Pacific is to be the best communications partner for clients looking for thinkers and doers to win in the new landscape of communications today," said Lian.

Prior to his stint at Zeno Group, Lian was with Text 100 for seven years as its APAC digital lead. He has also worked in Fleishman-Hillard in his career.
