Trump Issues Ultimatum to Hamas Over Hostage Release

(MENAFN) US President Donald trump has given Hamas an ultimatum, demanding the release of all remaining hostages held in Gaza by Saturday midday, warning that failure to comply would lead to “all hell” breaking out.

This demand comes after Hamas threatened to stop releasing additional hostages. The group claimed Israel had violated the terms of the fragile ceasefire agreement by preventing displaced Palestinians from returning to northern Gaza, limiting humanitarian aid, and delaying the second phase of the hostage exchange talks.

Israel, in response, argued that Hamas had breached the ceasefire terms, which had stipulated the release of 33 hostages in exchange for 1,904 Palestinian prisoners.

“I have instructed the IDF to prepare at the highest level of alert for any possible scenario in Gaza,” stated Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz.

During a briefing at the White House on Monday, Trump said that the future of the ceasefire would be “Israel’s decision.”
