Trump Threatens To End Gaza Ceasefire If Hostages Are Not Released By Noon Saturday

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) In response to Hamas' warning about halting hostage releases, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that if all hostages are not returned by Saturday noon, the ceasefire would be lifted, and“hell would break loose.”

Trump emphasized that all hostages, not just a few, must be released by noon on Saturday, February 15, or the situation would drastically change.

Trump expressed concerns that many hostages may have already died during captivity. However, he insisted they should be freed as per the agreement by the deadline.

He criticized Hamas for laughing at a hostage's joy over reuniting with family, unaware of their family's deaths in a Hamas attack. He warned Hamas of severe consequences.

Trump warned that if Egypt and Jordan refuse to accept Gaza residents into their territory, the U.S. might cut off financial aid to both countries, who are major recipients of American assistance.

Hamas announced on Monday that it would suspend the release of Israeli hostages indefinitely, citing Israel's violations of the ceasefire agreement as the reason for this decision.

Shortly after the announcement, Hamas issued another statement, explaining that it deliberately made the announcement five days ahead of the planned release to give mediators time to pressure Israel into fulfilling its commitments.

Hamas warned that delaying the release of prisoners was a message to Israel, signaling pressure for full compliance with the ceasefire terms. They emphasized they would release hostages on Saturday if Israel adheres to the agreement.

The announcement raised doubts about the fragile ceasefire, with Israeli hostage families urging the government to stick to the agreement. Gaza residents are also working to rebuild their lives amid the ongoing crisis.

Israel and Hamas accused each other of violating the ceasefire. Trump's statements, particularly regarding Gaza's future and Netanyahu's support, have further fueled the conflict and complicated negotiations.

With the ceasefire negotiations faltering, both sides continue to blame each other for breaches. Trump's controversial statements have intensified the situation, leaving little hope for progress in peace talks.
