Israeli ministers, Knesset members celebrate Trump’s plan
(MENAFN) Israeli ministers and Knesset members celebrated U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to seize the Gaza Strip and displace Palestinians, following his remarks on Tuesday evening with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Trump stated that the U.S. would take control of Gaza and carry out a mission there.
Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beytenu party, expressed gratitude toward Trump, calling his efforts a "just solution for Gaza" and thanking him for his strong commitment to Israel’s security. Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana described Trump's statements as the beginning of a new era, while Likud MK Eliyahu Rabivo praised Trump for speaking "the language of the Middle East." Transportation Minister Miri Regev viewed the meeting as the start of a new world order, describing the collaboration between the U.S. and Israel as a path toward a better future.
However, not everyone in Israel supported Trump’s plan. Knesset member Gilad Karev from the Labor Party warned that relocating Palestinians to neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan could destabilize the region, threatening peace agreements and the stability of governance. He also expressed concern that this could strengthen the Iranian axis. Meanwhile, Hamas strongly condemned Trump’s statements, accusing the U.S. of showing bias toward Israel and aggression against Palestinians. During the press conference, Trump also outlined plans for economic development in Gaza, claiming it could become the "Riviera of the Middle East" under U.S. control and investment.
