Are Bengaluru Schools Closed Today? IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Karnataka Districts


(MENAFN- Live Mint) Bengaluru weather: Karnataka capital, Bengaluru, and other parts of the state will continue to receive moderate to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather forecasting agency issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru , reported Hindustan Times. Due to the impact of cyclone Fengal, several Karnataka districts will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on December 3. Consequentially, there will be a school holiday in many areas.

Bengaluru school holiday: Will schools be shut in Karnataka capital?

Despite a heavy rainfall warning by the IMD , there has been no announcement of a school holiday in Bengaluru; hence, all educational institutes will remain functional on Tuesday.

Although there is no school holiday in Bengaluru, several Karnataka districts have announced the closure of schools due to heavy rainfall. Schools will remain shut in Dakshin Kannada and Udupi districts on Tuesday, December 3.

Karnataka weather today

According to the latest IMD bulletin, isolated heavy rain is expected in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru, Kodagu, Ramanagara and Chamarajanagar districts on Tuesday. Moderate rainfall is likely at many places over Tumkur, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chikkaballapura and Kolar districts.

Weather will remain pleasant in other Karnataka districts, including Uttara Kannada district, which may receive light to moderate rainfall today. Light to moderate rain is very likely at isolated places over the Raichur district. Light rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over the remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka.

Bengaluru weather today

According to IMD, Bengaluru weather is likely to remain pleasant, with a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain. A few places in the city may witness heavy rainfall during the day. The maximum temperature in Bengaluru is likely to be around 23 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature is likely to be around 20 degrees Celsius.

Cyclone Fengal has weakened into a low-pressure area over north interior Tamil Nadu, extending into south interior Karnataka. However, several parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Puducherry continue to receive heavy rainfall till Tuesday. According to meteorologists, the system is likely to move and develop further, potentially emerging into the southeast and east-central Arabian Sea near the northern coasts of Kerala and Karnataka around December 3, reported PTI.
