Women's Empowerment Initiative In KP Brings Hope To Flood-Affected Districts

PESHAWAR-In a significant push to empower women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially those from flood-affected districts, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) has joined hands with USAID, TNN Infotainment, and Dynimax to launch a unique skills training initiative.
This initiative, focusing on modern digital skills, aims to open new avenues for women aged 18-35 in Swat, Nowshera, D.I. Khan, Tank, Charsadda, and Peshawar.
Speaking about the initiative, organizers highlighted the urgent need to equip women with practical skills in Digital & Green Journalism , 2D Animation , and Print & Digital Media Designing , especially in a region still grappling with the aftereffects of severe flooding. The training will be held in Peshawar and is set to last for two months.

One of the key aspects of the program is its emphasis on green journalism , a growing field focusing on environmental awareness and sustainability. Participants will receive hands-on training from seasoned industry professionals, offering them not only technical expertise but also the confidence to carve out independent career paths.
Challenges and Hopes
As internet and mobile services remain disrupted in some areas due to ongoing conflicts and natural disasters, these training programs offer a beacon of hope. Local community leaders, while lauding the initiative, have urged the authorities to ensure safe travel routes for participants from remote regions.
