"The COP29 held in Baku has become an important platform for discussing global problems related to climate change and developing joint solutions," Azernews reports, citing Bekejan Jakeyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the International Center for Green Technologies and investment Projects, citing as he said at the press conference on "Results of the main climate summit of the UN - COP29" held in Astana.

He noted that Kazakhstan actively participated in the conference. The country presented its initiatives and achievements in the field of combating climate change and transitioning to sustainable development.

"Within the preparation and holding of COP29, the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center coordinated the work of the "Kazakhstan" pavilion and provided its information content. It has become a platform for holding a number of events, presentations and discussions on key aspects of the climate agenda," he said.

Bekejan Jakeyev noted that the pavilion presented initiatives in the field of decarbonization of Kazakhstan's economy, including the development of renewable energy sources, increasing energy efficiency, modernization of industry and plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

Shattik Tastemirova, head of the climate change adaptation department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that 33 thematic sessions were held in the "Kazakhstan" pavilion with the participation of international partners.

He emphasized that according to the results of COP29, it was decided to allocate 300 billion dollars annually to developing countries until 2035.

Speakers at the press conference talked about their experience of participation in COP29. They shared the initiatives presented by Kazakhstan, emphasized the active interaction with international partners and the organization of thematic events in the national pavilion.

It should be noted that the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects, being an organization subordinate to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is actively working on the formation of a long-term base for the development of "green" projects in Kazakhstan.
