Azerbaijan Announces Number Of Parliamentary Candidates Representing Parties

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. A total of 454 people nominated for MPs in Azerbaijan represent 25 parties, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said at the CEC meeting in Baku today, Trend reports.

According to him, 1,255 people were nominated in all 125 constituencies.

“Of these, 1,092 people received signature sheets, and 87 candidates for MPs have been registered so far," he added.

On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the dissolution of the Azerbaijani Parliament of the sixth convocation and the appointment of an extraordinary election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The snap election is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
