UAE sees BRICS membership as chance to expand commerce
(MENAFN) According to United Arab Emirates Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the country sees its BRICS membership as a chance to expand commerce and intends to provide more money to the organization's New Development Bank (NDB).
Abu Dhabi, one of the 6 new members accepted to the BRICS community this past week, entered the NDB a couple of years ago. Beginning in January of next year, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, as well as the United Arab Emirates will join the BRICS club of significant emerging nations as full members.
Brazil, Russia, India, China, along with South Africa founded the NDB in 2014 with the intention of sponsoring infrastructure and equitable growth initiatives. Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Uruguay later joined the bank when it officially began operations in 2015. Saudi Arabia is likewise attempting to join.
The UAE minister stated, without elaborating, "We are actually going to push more" and "indeed" inject funds into the bank.
