Five Al-Shabab Militants Killed In Somali'a Galmudug - Agency

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Somalia said Tuesday the death of five al-Shabab militants in a joint operation between Somali forces and US Africa Command (AFRICOM) in Galmudug State.
The state's official news agency (SONNA) noted that the military operation successfully destroyed a large base from which the militias were planning the launch of "terrorist" attacks.
This comes at a time the Somali army is continuing to crack down on the al-Qaeda-affiliated militia; in cooperation with international partners. (end)
