National Assembly Speaker Al-Sadoun Opens Special Session

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 27 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Sadoun opened Thursday special session to examine a bill on national assembly elections.
The draft law aims to reform the electoral process through additional legalities and creating an environment that allows for free honest and transparent elections.
The cabinet's weekly-issued statement had mentioned on Sunday that it had referred to the assembly a draft law on the electoral process as well as a high national commission for elections.
The national assembly in its session last Tuesday had approved a letter from head of legislative parliamentary committee, MP Muhannad Al-Sayer, and head of the interior and defense parliamentary committee, MP Khaled Al-Otaibi, requesting the formation of a joint committee to examine the draft bill.
