Doha, Qatar: Qatar and the US companies enjoy a well-versed business bilateral partnership said officials as the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Qatar paves the way for establishing ties between the two countries in various fields.
Speaking to The Peninsula Rehan Khan, Chair of AmCham Qatar said:“The primary mission of the American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar is to represent the US Businesses in Qatar and to work with the Qatari partners in collaboration to work towards the strategic vision of Qatar 2030 and how the businesses can augment and help Qatar achieve in that mission.”
Khan noted that the organisation looks forward to helping Qatar meet its vision and enables all the US firms in the country to implement strategic partnerships. He said“The key element for us to do this mission is to engage with the local community, and this is what all American businesses need to do. We need to have the collaboration with the local communities and see what's required and augment that whether used values of what we bring to the table of integrity on the governance of transparency and help achieve those in Qatari markets.”
Emphasisng on the national vision, he said:“Now the remaining focus is on the 2030 vision which I think is better here due to the well-built infrastructures. and strategic partnerships between the US airforce and the Qatari services. And on the other side I think where Qatar wants to be involved where the US companies can help is the IT sector s including cyber security and data centers."
Azeem Mohuiddin, Board member of AmCham Qatar stressed that the US-based organisation meets the needs of new firms in the market and helps them to establish bringing the people into the challenging market.
The official said that“In terms of our contribution, we represent these huge companies that bring their people into their country and they can effectively run their businesses.”
Remarking on the significant role the organisation helps in networking, he said“We act as a platform to link and bridge US businesses in Qatar so wherever there are interests from US organisations to enter into the Qatari market they use the AmCham platform and we have a whole network of service providers and members who we can provide information and advice so we have been very instrumental to that process. We are doing an update on the values to get even better in Qatar so I think we have been fundamental for the businesses here.”
Recently AmCham Qatar hosted a reception honoring the new board of governors with the participation of the US Ambassador to Qatar H E Timmy T Davis at the W Hotel Doha.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, H E Davis told The Peninsula that the organisation is a valuable asset in revitalising the economy of the country.
He said,“Each of these American companies is absolutely stellar and greater in what they do like attracting investments, making investments and doing work in energy, security, agriculture, technology, education but when you bring all that power together under the AmCham, what you have is this multiplied impact on the Qatari economy.”
