(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine's defense forces had 43 military engagements with Russian invaders in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka areas in the past 24 hours. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a morning update posted to facebook , according to Ukrinform.
"Overnight, the Russian Federation carried out another missile and air strike on Ukraine. Detailed information will be made public later. In the past 24 hours, the enemy carried out seven missile strikes, two of them hitting the peaceful city of Uman, as well as 43 air strikes and 79 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas. There are casualties among civilians," the report reads.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka areas, heavy fighting continues.
In the Volyn and Polissia areas, the operational situation has not changed significantly.
In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna areas, the enemy maintains a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine and strengthens the composition of a grouping protecting the border at the expense of units of the territorial troops. In the past day, the enemy carried out air strikes on the settlements of Myropillia, Sinne and Severynivka in the Sumy region. The enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the settlements of Seredyna-Buda, Atynske, Bezsalivka, Myropillia, Hrabovske, Velyka Pysarivka and Ponomarenky in the Sumy region, as well as Krasne, Morokhovets, Lukiantsi, Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk and Chuhunivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk area, the enemy launched an air strike outside Kyslivka. The settlements of Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kyslivka, Tabaivka and Berestove in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Lyman area, in the past 24 hours, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Vesele, Donetsk region. The settlements of Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Verkhniokamianske, Torske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.
In the Bakhmut area, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the settlements of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky and Bila Hora. The enemy carried out air strikes outside Bila Hora and Toretsk in the Donetsk region. The settlements of Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Toretsk and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region were all hit by enemy artillery fire.
In the Avdiivka area, the enemy made unsuccessful offensive attempts near Sieverne and Opytne. Air strikes were recorded near Avdiivka. The enemy carried out artillery shelling of the settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske and Karlivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Marinka area, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks outside the city of Marinka. The enemy suffered losses. At the same time, the enemy fired artillery outside Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarske area, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of Velyka Novosilka and shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Shakhtarske, Zolota Nyva and Vremivka in the Donetsk region.
The enemy remains on the defensive in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson areas. The enemy carried out air strikes outside Novopil in the Donetsk region, Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region and Zmiivka, Beryslav and Kozatske in the Kherson region. The enemy carried out artillery shelling of Burlatske, Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Novopil, and Temyrivka in the Donetsk region; Olhivske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria and Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region, Beryslav, Antonivka and Dniprovske in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.
In temporarily occupied Crimea, particularly in Simferopol, the local media keep silent about the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant by the Russian occupiers and about the consequences of this disaster. It is known that the local occupation authorities are concerned about possible panic among the population.
According to the General Staff, the presence of the Akhmat unit was recorded in the southwestern part of temporarily occupied Donetsk. The occupiers are engaged in looting the civilian population, as well as filming staged videos about the conduct of hostilities. On June 6, as a result of an effective attack by Ukraine's defense forces on a Russian training camp, the enemy lost 56 people dead.
In the past 24 hours, Ukraine's Air Force carried out 19 strikes on areas where enemy troops were concentrated and two strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems. Six attack drones and four reconnaissance UAVs of various types were destroyed. Over the past 24 hours, units of Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery hit five command centers, six areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, two anti-aircraft missile systems, eight artillery pieces in firing positions and two more important enemy objects, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
