Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, a session of official talks with HE Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the friendly Republic of Uzbekistan, at the Congress Center in Samarkand.

During the session, HE the President welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation to the city of Samarkand, looking forward to strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his thanks for the warm reception and generous hospitality, pointing out that the two countries possess many elements to consolidate cooperation and advance relations to broader horizons.
During the session, they reviewed the existing friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing and developing them in various fields.
HH the Amir and HE the President also discussed ways to implement investment and trade plans between the two countries in a way that supports the economy and development plans of the two sides, in addition to discussing events and developments on the regional and international arenas.
The session was attended by HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qasim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Culture, HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a number of senior officials.
On the Uzbek side, the session was attended by HE Jamshid Khajayev, Deputy Prime Minister, HE Sardar Omarzakov, Head of the Governing Body, HE Bakhtiyar Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Jurapek Mirzahmedov, Minister of Energy, HE Aziz Vyutov, Minister of Agricultural Resources, and HE Nazarbekov Ozodbek Ahmadovich, Minister of Culture and Tourism, and a number of Their Excellencies and senior officials.
After the session, HH the Amir and HE the President of Uzbekistan planted a tree in the visitors' area designated for leaders and presidents in the Congress Center garden as a symbol of the visit.
This was followed by a luncheon hosted by HE the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in honor of His Highness and the accompanying delegation.
