NATO Chief Thanks Türkiye for Reinforcements in Kosovo


(MENAFN) NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed his appreciation for Türkiye's support in sending reinforcements to Kosovo during a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul. The meeting took place at the Dolmabahce Palace and was followed by Stoltenberg's remarks to the press. He thanked Türkiye for its assistance in response to the recent unrest in northern Kosovo.

Stoltenberg highlighted the significance of Türkiye's strong support for Ukraine, a country ravaged by war. He specifically mentioned Türkiye's role in facilitating the Black Sea grain deal and ensuring its continuation. The Secretary General recognized Türkiye's commitment to assisting Ukraine and expressed gratitude for their efforts.

The meeting between Stoltenberg and Erdogan also covered important topics that will be addressed at NATO's summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, scheduled for July. Among the subjects of discussion are NATO's steadfast support for Ukraine, the reinforcement of deterrence and defense measures, and the importance of NATO's presence in Kosovo. These issues reflect the ongoing focus of NATO in promoting stability and security in the region.
