Arab League Condemns Israeli Violations Against Palestinian Education System


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 4 (KUNA) -- The Arab League condemned on Sunday the Israeli violations against the Palestinian education system, saying that despite the circumstances, Palestinians displayed resilience and perseverance against their aggressors.
In his speech to the 88th meeting for the Palestinian education affairs committee, Assistance Arab League Secretary General for Palestine and occupied Arab lands, Saeed Abu-Ali said that the Israeli occupation was trying its best to cover the national identity of Palestinians via hampering with history and covering facts.
He added that Palestinian universities and educational facilities were in need more than ever for support through the offering grants and scholarships.
The Arab League official condemned the international silence towards Israeli crimes and said that it was paramount for the world to implement measures to prevent Israel from further encroaching on Palestinian rights.
Palestinians must be offered protection from the global community and also Palestine should be a full member of the United Nations, he affirmed.
The five-day 88th meeting for the Palestinian education affairs committee sees the participation of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and a number of Arab organizations. (end)
