(MENAFN) In a significant step towards fostering environmental research and initiatives, Qatar University (QU) and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a cooperative partnership. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and Dr. Hassan Al Derham, the President of QU, at the university's campus.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Ibrahim Abdullatif Al Maslamani, Assistant Undersecretary for Protection and Natural Reserves Affairs at the MOECC, and Prof. Mariam Al Maadeed, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at QU. The agreement solidifies the commitment of both entities to collaborate in the field of environmental research and undertake joint projects that promote sustainability and address the challenges posed by climate change.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the partnership, Dr. Al Maslamani highlighted the significance of QU as a leading national institution renowned for its expertise in study and research.
