Boris Johnson attempts to persuade Trump to support Ukraine

(MENAFN) An official for Boris Johnson informed journalists on Friday that former British prime minister held a gathering with the former United States Leader Donald Trump and attempted to persuade him to identify “the vital importance of Ukrainian victory.”

Trump has declined to support Kiev’s army objectives, instead, he urged for a diplomatic answer to the war with Russia.

Johnson had dinner with Trump on Thursday, his official said to multiple Unites States and United Kingdom journalism outlets. “Boris Johnson MP met President Donald J. Trump to discuss the situation in Ukraine and the vital importance of Ukrainian victory,” they noted.

Johnson has been on a speaking tour of the United States for the last week in a proposal to try and evoke a backing for Ukraine from a Republican Party whose elector base is progressively doubtful of sustained United States help for Kiev.

“I just urge you all to stick with it,” he declared to a crowd of conservative lobbyists and benefactors in Texas on Monday, saying that their backing “will pay off massively in the long run.”
