Birla Public School Emerges Champion In Debate Leagues

Doha, Qatar: The students of Birla Public School brought laurels to the school by emerging as Qatar Preparatory Schools Debate League (QPDSL) National Champions for Season 2022–2023 in both Boys and Girls category and also bagging third position in the Secondary School Debate Leagues for Boys.

The Debate was organised by Qatar Debate Centre, a member of Qatar Foundation.

Representing the QSDL Boys team, Dhairya Kamalkumar, Riaan Jigar and Aryan Khandelwal along with the Debate Club Coordinator Remya Vinod and Jino Koshy received the trophy on May 16 in a grand ceremony held at Education City. The other team members were Karthikeyan G., Mohammed Maazin and Ponnambalam V. Dhairya Kamalkumar received the Best Speaker Award in the Open Debate Leagues Category.

The teams were trained under the able guidance of Ms. Jeena Pauline. On May 17, the QPSDL Girls Team comprising of Devipriya Chandhirahasan, Ananya Mathias and Aalia Mazhar Khan continued their winning streak, leaving behind 70 teams from 30 different schools, and lifted the prestigious Champions trophy.

Ananya Mathias was declared the Best Speaker in the Final. The QPSDL Boys Teams comprising of Raaghav A.M, Rishab Murthy, Nihal R, Bhanu Harsha, Umesh G and Mohammed Rayan S bagged the first runner-up trophy in League Level Debate.

The QPSDL Boys Team with Umesh G, Bhanu Harsha and Mohammed Rayan S made the school proud by becoming QPSDL National winners on May 18. Umesh G. was chosen the Best Speaker in the Final.

The QPSDL Teams were under the able guidance of Coach Aman Salma Nasroon. Her continued effort and dedication has shown a laudable improvement in the school's performance at the Debate Tournaments in the last two years.

Academic Director Principal Harish Sanduja, Vice-Principals Radhika Rele and Edna Fernandez appreciated the Debaters, Coaches and the Coordinator.
