Amman, May 18 (Petra) - The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) on Thursday launched an online training platform to develop the Kingdom's water sector services, enhance "effective" stakeholder partnership and spare effort.
According to a WAJ statement, the platform aims to boost the authority's training services and its affiliated companies to keep pace with technological development.
The platform also provides training services to all WAJ's workers and launches an integrated database for this purpose, the statement added.
During the inauguration ceremony, WAJ Acting Secretary General, Rami Abu Rewaq, said the platform constitutes a "quantum" leap in training strategies, as it provides interactive content for sector employees, in a bid to achieve the "highest" benefit and optimally spare time and cost.
The platform, he noted, unifies vision and content of the training services for the WAJ and water companies, and streamlines processes and procedures for managing these programs, to achieve the "best" level of services provided in the water sector smoothly.
Abu Rewaq lauded the continuous support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and their role in enabling the sector to face various challenges.
For his part, WAJ Assistant Secretary General for Administrative Affairs, Imad Qatawneh, said this interactive portal constitutes a "qualitative" leap in the training programs, which would achieve the authority's strategic goals, develop institutional capabilities of Jordan's water sector and build worker capabilities, based on to the latest practices.
