Edward Rioja Reyes, Restaurant Manager
Edward Rioja Reyes takes on the mantle of McGettigan's Dubai Science Park's Restaurant Manager. With a career spanning more than a decade in the UAE's food and beverage industry, Edward's journey to the top has been a bittersweet one, filled with hard work, dedication, and an unbreakable spirit.
Starting off as a mixologist in Emaar, Edward honed his skills behind the bar and developed a rich beverage and operational background. He then expanded his repertoire by working his way up the ranks. Edward, an accomplished F&B leader, has made significant contributions to the hospitality industry. He was part of the pre-opening team of Ramsa in Erth in Abu Dhabi, an ultra-luxury restaurant and bar, where he demonstrated excellent organizational and leadership skills. At Habtoor Polo Resort, Edward spearheaded a bar renovation initiative that led to a 20% increase in revenue. His exceptional talent and expertise in mixology were recognized with top rankings in both the Patron Cocktail and Tribal Mixologist competitions. Additionally, Edward conducted Bar Master Classes at the Melia Desert Palm Hotel and is certified in Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), making him highly qualified to train and mentor others in the industry. With a proven track record of success, Edward is an invaluable asset to McGettigan's team in Dubai Science Park.
As Restaurant Manager, Edward aims to inspire and lead his team to new heights, leveraging his skills in leadership and people management, attention to detail, and time management to drive the success of this amazing property.
Wayne Cameron, Senior Sous Chef
Joining as the Senior Sous Chef for McGettigan's is Wayne Cameron. Hailing from South Africa, Wayne has spent the past two decades honing his craft across the globe and brings with him a wealth of culinary expertise.
Starting out in Durban with a hotel group called Three Cities, Wayne completed a three-year on-the-job training program and was awarded a culinary certificate. He then went on to work with Exquisite Cuisine as Junior Sous Chef for five years, before moving on to Park Inn by Radisson Johannesburg and The Intercontinental O.R. Tambo Airport Hotel.
Wayne's culinary journey then took him to Seychelles with the Hilton Group as an Executive Sous Chef, and later to Vietnam where he served as Executive Sous Chef at the high-end resort, The Anam in Nha Trang. Wayne has found a new home in Dubai, joining the team at Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park.
With a fiery passion for the culinary arts and an unrelenting dedication to his craft, Wayne is determined to bring his creative flair to life through McGettigan's culinary program. Armed with a wealth of knowledge and expertise gathered from his globetrotting adventures, he aims to deliver a gastronomic experience that will tantalize the taste buds of his guests in Dubai.
