(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MADRID, May 8 (KUNA) -- UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez Monday reviewed the latest regional and international issues, said a Spanish presidency ministry statement.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed Ukraine's war and ensuring food security, the statement added.
Sanchez stressed Spain's support to the UN efforts to put an end to the war in Ukraine and mitigate the lack of food security resulted from the Russian's "aggression", it noted.
He renewed his country's commitment to the sustainable development summit due in September during Spain's presidency of the EU Council.
They further covered the happenings in Sudan, the Western Sahara, the Middle East and Haiti, it pointed out.
In the presence of Spanish King Felipe VI, Guterres will be handed Tuesday the Carlos V European Award granted by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation. (end)
