FIBA to Debut LED Glass Floor to Display Live Stats, Interactive Applications

(MENAFN) The FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in 2023 will feature an innovative LED glass floor for the first time, according to a statement from the world basketball governing body. The glass floor will display players' live stats and athletic achievements, as well as interactive applications on the court.

The ASB GlassFloor system, which has been tested and used in the 3x3 Pro League in the Netherlands and in pre-season German Bundesliga games, will provide a full video floor allowing for interactive applications and enhanced show staging with additional options for advertising. The court will also feature player tracking, making it possible to display live stats and athletic achievements on the floor.

The FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2023 will be played in Madrid on July 15-23, and the glass flooring will be used for all the final phase games at the Palacio de los Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid. FIBA stated that the state-of-the-art surface will provide a fantastic opportunity for some of the best young female players and teams in the world to become the first to play on it at a flagship FIBA event.

The LED glass floor represents a significant innovation in basketball court technology, and has the potential to enhance fan engagement and interaction with the game. The display of live stats and athletic achievements on the court is a particularly exciting development, and could provide a new level of insight and analysis for fans and commentators alike. The FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2023 promises to be a landmark event for the sport, showcasing the latest in basketball technology and innovation.
