Katara Holds 12th Session of Holy Quran Memorisation Competition for Children


(MENAFN) Katara has kicked off the activities of the 12th session of the Holy Quran memorisation competition for the blessed month of Ramadan 2023. The competition aims to raise the young generation and strengthen their connection with their Islamic identity and the foundations of their true religion. A total of 60 children between the ages of 10-14 years participated in the competition, with 35 male children joining the Quran memorisation workshops at Katara Mosque and 25 girls joining the memorisation sessions at the Golden Mosque. The activities of the course continue weekly from Sunday to Thursday, after the Asr prayer for an hour.

The current session includes teaching parts of the Holy Quran and some of the noble hadiths of the Prophet, in addition to teaching children about prayer, ablution, stories of the prophets, the Prophet’s biography, and Islamic literature. The competition provides a platform for children to learn and memorize the Quran in a structured and supportive environment, enabling them to develop a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings and values.

Parents of the children participating in the 12th session of the Holy Quran memorisation competition expressed their happiness for their children joining the event and teaching workshops. They expressed their admiration for the advanced level of the course and the supervision of a group of qualified memorisers. They also praised the important role that Katara plays in connecting children and young adults with the Holy Quran, recitation, memorisation, and contemplation. The parents highlighted the importance of the competition in inculcating Islamic values and good morals derived from the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s biography.
