Doha: Al Shahania Stud's homebred Nazwa made good on the promise of her recent string placed runs and earlier win, clinching the Al Wakra Cup at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday.
Jockey Lukas Delozier rode the Rudy Nerbonn-trained to over two lengths win in the 1600m Purebred Arabian, yesterday's feature at Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club's (QREC) 44th Race Meeting.
Meanwhile, trainer Hamad Al Jehani and jockey Arnaud De Lepine teamed up to good effect once again on the day, as the Mohammed Abdulhadi Al Hajri-owned Impedor De Bozouls continued his good efforts and took the 1850m Handicap (0-95) for Purebred Arabians by a length and a quarter in penultimate race of the day.
In Thoroughbred Handicap 75-95 (Class 3), Wathnan Racing's Zulu Tracker made his third start in Qatar a winning one, adding a fourth victory to his tally.
The Alban de Mieulle-trained 4YO gelding prevailed by three quarters of a length in the 1600m run, giving jockey Soufiane Saadi a second winner in the meeting.

Also yesterday, the 1600m Handicap (0-90) for 3YO Thoroughbreds saw Al Hajaj Stud's Mister Staple land the spoils under a fine ride from Arnaud De Lepine.
The Hamad Al Jehani-trained colt seemed to appreciate the step back up in trip on his first attempt on sand, as he swooped late to win by half a length.
There was another thrilling finish in the 1600m Maiden for 4-6YO Purebred Arabians with a neck separating the first two home and it was the Khalifa Hassan Al Jehani-owned and Hadi Al Ramzani-trained Hamza (FR) (Amer x Amannite), who, on second career start and under jockey Tomas Lukasek, denied Taya (FR) (Dahess) in the final strides.
