Saudi Aramco Inks Mou With Samsung To Localize 5G Technology


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, March 23 (KUNA) -- The Saudi energy giant Aramco signed Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SamsungElectronics Co. to localize the industrial 5G technology ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that through this memo Aramco seeks to contribute to the digital transformation of various industrial sectors in the Kingdom, such as energy, petrochemical, and manufacturing, by leveraging advanced 4g and 5G technologies capable of providing secure, fast and reliable communication, to satisfy critical business requirements of industries.
It noted that the step aims to tap advanced industrial 5G use for critical communication.
It added that the MoU follows the recent launch of Aramco Digital Company, to accelerate the digital transformation in the Kingdom, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. (end)
