Deputy PM Vereshchuk Calls On Russian Ombudswoman To Provide Lists Of All Ukrainian Orphans Taken To Russia


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk publicly calls on Russian Ombudswoman Tatyana Moskalkova to hand over the lists of all orphans who are citizens of Ukraine.

'I publicly address Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova and Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova. I suggest that they should immediately provide the Ukrainian side with the lists of all orphans and children deprived of parental care, who were citizens of Ukraine aged up to and including 18 years old on February 24, 2022,' Vereshchuk posted on telegram .

She also called on Moskalkova and Lvova-Belova to immediately submit to the Ukrainian side the lists of all orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are currently in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as those who were taken to Russian territory.

As reported, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets stated that there might be about 150,000 illegally deported Ukrainian children in the territory of Russia. As of February 16, there are 16,207 officially verified children in the territory of the Russian Federation.
