(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BERLIN, March 17 (KUNA) -- Flights were suspended at Germany's Cologne-Bonn and Dusseldorf airports on Friday due to workers' strike.
Cologne-Bonn airport said in a statement that the strike will lead to the cancellation of 144 flights, while Dusseldorf airport noted that 264 out of 391 flights will be cancelled.
According to a statement by Verdi union who organized the strike, 5,000 workers will take part in the strike which will go on until midnight.
Germany's airports have been facing strike movements in the past few weeks, caused by refusal to raise workers' pay.
The unions are calling for a raise of 10 percent, while inflation rate is rising, affected by the rise in energy prices and the war in Ukraine. (end)
