Chambers Of Industry Chairman Calls For Opening Access To Syrian Markets

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Chairman of the Jordan and Amman chambers of industry Fathi Jaghbir on Wednesday called for facilitating the access of Jordanian products into Syria, especially as the private sector looks forward to growing and integrating economic relations between the two countries.

Receiving a delegation from the Damascus Chamber of Industry (DCI), Jaghbir stressed the importance of providing necessary circumstances to establish more joint projects and resume commercial and economic ties between Jordan and Syria, where commercial exchange exceeded $600 million in the past, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also expressed Jordanian businesspeople's desire to cooperate with their Syrian counterparts, especially as many Syrian industrialists have successfully moved their factories into the Kingdom. DCI President Mohammed Masri commended Jordan's support to victims of the earthquake, stressing that relations with Jordan should be complementary, rather than competitive.
