CAIRO, March 2 (KUNA) -- Sculptor Dr. Yousef Mahmoud uses his intricate knowledge of history to sculpt figures of history from the age of the Pharaohs to modern times.
Speaking to KUNA, the artist said several of his art pieces evoked images from the past from relations between a Nubian couple in his piece Mawadha (love) to the stern looks of women in Wajh Al-Janoub (face from the south).
Mahmoud's mission might have proven to be a success due to his ability to catch the feelings of the moment by mixing Egyptian culture with international artistic sensibilities. (end) ams.gta
