(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian defenders repelled 81 attacks by Russian invaders in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions over the past day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“The Russian Federation continues to wage full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. They focus their main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions. Over the past day, our defenders repelled 81 occupiers' attacks in these areas. The enemy is attempting to destroy the critical infrastructure of our state, continues strikes, artillery shelling of civilian objects and houses of the civilian population. The enemy constantly conducts aerial reconnaissance to adjust their strikes,' the report says.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian forces launched 5 missile attacks and 13 air strikes, including two with the use of Shahed-136 UAVs targeting civilian infrastructure. The drones were shot down. In addition, the enemy launched more than 50 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems, in particular, on civilian infrastructure in Kherson and Donetsk regions. There were reports of killed and wounded civilians, destroyed civilian houses and damaged civilian infrastructure.
The threat of missile strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high, the General Staff warns.
In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has not undergone significant change. The enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of Khrinivka and Katerynivka settlements in Chernihiv region; Hirky, Atynske, Stukalivka, Hyrine, Pavlivka, Volfyne in Sumy region, as well as Veterynarne, Chervona Zoria, Strelecha, Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Cherniaky, Loshakove, Krasne Pershe, Stroivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Kupiansk in Kharkiv region. In the vicinity of Popivka, Sumy region, and Chervona Zoria, the enemy used an unmanned combat aerial vehicle.
In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Novoselivske, Ploshchanka, Bilohorivka, Spirne, and Berestove. Enemy artillery shelling was recorded in more than 25 settlements, including Lyman Pershyi and Kurylivka in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske, Chervonopivka, Dibrova, Serebrianka Forestry, Bilohorivka, Spirne, Rozdolivka and Fedorivka in Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to attack Ukrainian positions, carried out unsuccessful offensive actions near the settlements of Dubovo-Vasylivka, Yahidne, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, and Pivnichne in Donetsk region. Areas of more than 25 settlements were shelled, including Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Bila Hora, Ozarianivka, Stupochky, Zalizne, and Pivdenne in Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensive in the areas of Kamianka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Vuhledar settlements. Artillery shelling was carried out in areas of populated areas, including Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Lastochkyno, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, and Vremivka in Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, more than 30 settlements came under enemy fire, including Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region; Olhivske, Malynivka, Chervone, Charivne, Bilohirya, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv and Novoandriivka in Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, Mykhailivka, Kachkarivka, Lvove, Antonivka, Kherson, Komyshany, Blahovishchenske, Bilozerka, Dniprovske and Berehove in Kherson region were subjected to enemy fire. In total, districts of 27 settlements came under enemy fire.

At the same time, our defenders destroyed a Russian SU-25 attack aircraft. Over the past 24 hours, units of the rocket forces and artillery hit an ammunition depot and an enemy satellite communications jamming station,” the General Staff said.
As reported, since February 24, 2022, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have eliminated nearly 148,130 Russian soldiers.
