Doha: A delegation from the Hong Kong Airport Police visited Hamad International Airport (HIA) to learn about the experience of Qatar in securing the airport and facilitating the movement of passengers, especially during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which concluded its activities in December.
The visit included a tour of the airport facilities and an introduction to the services provided by various agencies and the systems and modern technologies used to secure and facilitate the movement of passengers.
Also, HIA officials held a meeting with the Hong Kong delegation, during which they reviewed ways of exchanging security and organizational experiences related to securing ports and travelers via the airport during international events.
On this occasion, Assistant Director of the Airport Security Department Col. Faisal Musallam Al Dosari said that this visit comes within the framework of cooperation and mutual understanding between the Ministry of Interior and the Hong Kong Police to strengthen joint security cooperation relations and exchange security and organizational expertise, hoping that the visit will achieve the desired goals.
For their part, members of the Hong Kong police delegation expressed their happiness for visiting and getting briefed on the security and organizational measures adopted by Qatar, which were among the reasons for the success of the World Cup.
