12 TTP Militants Killed In Pakistan's KP: Security Forces

Security forces killed 12 Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday, according to the statement.

The statement also said security personnel and militants exchanged fire last Tuesday night, killing 12 insurgents, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Since the broke down of negotiations in November last year with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, the group has increased its attack in the country, killing police officers and soldiers and targeting military areas and citizens.

The TTP attacked several large cities in Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, and Panjub, killing hundreds and injuring several others.

According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), January 2023 was one of the deadliest months since July 2018, with 134 persons killed (a 139% increase) and 254 injured in at least 44 militant strikes across the nation.
