Ramallah: The Palestinian Presidency condemned on Monday the new crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Ariha at dawn on Monday, killing five Palestinians and injuring others.
The Palestinian Presidency stressed in a statement that committing this crime in Ariha confirms that the new Israeli government continues its series of crimes against the Palestinian people.
The presidency considered the crime of the occupation forces a challenge to all the international efforts made during the past days to stop the Israeli aggression.
The presidency also pointed out that the international silence on the occupation's violations and crimes encourages it to commit more massacres against the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Presidency called on the international community, especially the US administration, to intervene and pressure the occupation government to stop its dangerous escalation, spare the region more violence and tension, and provide the Palestinians with international protection.
Large forces of the occupation army had stormed the camp earlier at dawn, leading to the outbreak of violent confrontations, which resulted in the death of five Palestinians, and the wounding of 3 others with live bullets, one of whom was seriously wounded.
The occupation forces continue the siege they imposed on the city of Ariha and Aqabat Jabr camp, for the tenth day in a row, by closing the main and secondary entrances to Ariha through military checkpoints.
